Thinking of how to beat the cold winter blues? …Well, start by getting into the Christmas spirit! Vancouver’s newest winter festival ‘Aurora’ will be opening up by the end of this week. With an extravagant layout, (including an ice rink!) you will not regret including this event in your seasonal winter plans!
Normally a native Toronto Festival, this year will be the first year we get to experience what this fabulous event has to offer. From the carefully crafted layout to the attractions such as the Ferris Wheel, Merry-go-round or train, this is something that the whole family can enjoy! BUT…..(sound the hallelujah chorus) the attraction that has us all gleaming with excitement is the Tube park which is said to be roughly 200 feet tall, and 30-feet long…that is some ride down! If you think you have seen it all, wait till this attraction has you #chillinataurora
If the weather outside is frightful, but the Entertainment tent amenities are so delightful (haha), feel free to warm up over some adult-only mulled #wine or kid-friendly hot cocoa. This could also be followed by a quick trip to the food market, mmm Turkish delight!
Not one for rides? That’s fine…. do some Christmas shopping early, while the rest of the gang braves the tube park. With the Main street market in the centre of the venue, you have access to over 15+ vendors to choose from. You can bet your bottom dollar you’ll be able to find those perfect jammies for uncle Jim Jim, socks for grandpa Jo and candles for cousin Patty… all while the kids (spouse/boyfriend whatever..) are preoccupied.
